POLYESTER PAINTS 3K

POLYESTER PAINTS 3K

The definition of “polyester paints” (unsaturated type) refers to a wide range of coating products formulated with special polymeric binders with “unsaturated” chemical bonds able to polymerize through a chemical oxidation-reduction addition reaction.

These products have a wide diffusion as being characterized by high filling properties thanks to their high solid content and the wooden fibre filling properties and are, generally speaking, well familiarly used in the modern furniture.

In case of traditional polyesters (“poliesterini” or paraffinates”) the curing process is started by the reaction between oxidising organic peroxides triggered by special metal salts reducers (called accelerators, normally of blue colour).

In case of UV drying polyesters, the reaction is started by photosensitive photo-activators, whose action is triggered by special UV lamps of the painted line.

The “paraffin type” polyesters, with to their high solid content, are particularly suitable to achieve closed pore finishes, transparent and/or pigmented. These coatings also, after proper sanding and buffing process, to accomplish ultra-glossy finishes, lasting over the time with no shrinking.
